Greetings!

What a warm summer we have been experiencing! When first looking at my schedule of giving and attending lectures, and  R & D  for the year, it didn’t seem like much, but it seems to have filled quite a bit.  A new laser and a prototype developed.

Unfortunately, most dental schools don’t offer much, if any, training on laser dentistry, so I was happy to provide this for new and old  dentists alike. In April, I attended the Academy of Laser Dentistry’s annual meeting. I was given the job of writing the white paper on the treatment of implant mucositis and periimplantitis along with  a group of gum specialists and implant dentists. It’s a  great honor for me to be personally asked at the meeting. It also means I get first hand knowledge on what’s working and what’s not in the treatment of failing implants .

Well, by now, many of you have met the new dentist and associate in the practice. Dr Tom graduated from the University of Minnesota dental school in  the 1990’s. In October, he will start seeing patients. His expertise is in the placement of implants.  He’s completed in neighborhood of 7000-8000 implants with a 96% success rate and is a fellow in the ICOI. What brought him to Rapid City, a girl from Rapid City.

No, he doesn’t look like me, but he has the same gentle hands as I am told that I do. He is excited to be treating patients. At this time he will be seeing patients for fillings, laser dentistry, and crowns.

It is an honor to have him in our practice and I hope you will be able to meet him at your next cleaning appointment.

My oldest son Kyle has started practice in equine veterinarian medicine and surgery in Corvallis, Montana and is loving every bit of it. He has a  girl friend and she is excited that they are there.

Korey and his dog went  to Alaska for a month of well-deserved vacation .  Still working at BH Power Corp as protection Engineer in the planning department, He’s still single, though Mom wants him married and  grandkids.

Sara, Marcie, Jen, and the other Sarah are all doing well. Marcie and Jen received their certifications from DANB and are now CDA’s not just registered. Marcie's house is almost built,  another month or two and she’ll be in it for Thanksgiving.

As always, I thank you for the referral of family and friends, and now, with each referral to our office, you will receive a $100 voucher to use on dental treatment done at our office. Have a fun and safe fall!

Dr. Tim
